Amazon A to Z Product Uploading Guide

Note 1: Amazon is a self serve platform, we support providing Amazon formatted sheets. But you have to upload on your own or hire a freelancer who can do this for you.

SECTION 1: How to Apply for GTIN Exemption in Amazon Seller Central (India)

If you already have a GTIN (UPC/EAN/ISBN) for your product category, you can ignore this section.
If you do not have a GTIN and want to list products without a barcode, follow the steps below to apply for a GTIN Exemption:

GTIN exemptions are usually required for non-branded products or items not attached to any registered brand. To sell products in marketplaces like Amazon, sellers must either:

  • Provide a brand authorization letter, or
  • Apply for a GTIN exemption.

If you don’t have a brand authorization, follow these steps to request a GTIN exemption from Amazon:

Steps to Apply for GTIN Exemption in Amazon Seller Central (India)

  1. Login to Seller Central
    - Go to the sellercentral.amazon.in
    - Sign in with your seller account.

  2. Go to the Add Product Page
    - From the top menu, click Catalogue > Add Products.
    - Select “List a single product from scratch using a blank interactive web form.” 

3. Create a Listing
-
Choose the correct category for your product. Start creating a new listing using the blank form. 

4. Select Exemption

  • On the product listing form, choose:
    - For Non-Generic Product, tick “This product does not have a brand name".
    - External Product ID tick - “I do not have a Product ID (GTIN)". 

5. Complete the Listing 

Fill in all required product details, including:
- Product Title
- Category
- Product Description
- Images (at least 1 clear product image)
- Price, Quantity, and SKU

Double-check the details and make sure everything is correct.

6. Submit the Listing

- Once all required fields are filled, click Submit.
- Your single product listing will be created under GTIN exemption request.

7. Processing Time

Amazon usually approves GTIN exemptions within 24 to 48 hours. Once approved, you can continue listing products in the selected category.

SECTION 2: How to Access All Amazon Products

1. Open the Google Drive folder"All Products."

2. View all the Amazon batches.

3. Download the required Amazon batches.

4. Then proceed to Sections 3 and 4.

SECTION 3: Amazon New Upload Format – Template Download & Baapstore Excel Product Upload Guide (After April 2026)

From April 2026 onwards, Amazon has updated the product upload process.
You must download the latest Amazon template and upload products using the Baapstore Excel format.

Section A: Generating Your Account's Amazon Template

1. Login to your Amazon Seller account
2. Go to:https://sellercentral.amazon.in/product-search/bulk
3. Click onDownload Blank Template

4. Click on “Download Product Spreadsheet” button

5. Copy thecategory namefrom Baapstore's respectivebatch excel file.

6. Click on thecategory node hyperlinkin the Amazon template page.

👉 Paste the copied category name from Baapstore Excel File and select the right matching category name.

Eg.
Saree, Salwar Suit(Note: If there are multiple category names in the Baapstore Excel File, you need to copy paste those multiple category names one by one add and match it here)

7. Scroll down the page. Click on the “Generate Spreadsheet” button.
The Amazon template file will be automatically downloaded to your system.

Section B: Fill Data & Upload

8. Open both files:
- Baapstore Excel sheet
- Amazon Template

9. Copy product details from Baapstore file
(SKU, Title, Price, Quantity, Images, etc.)

10. Paste those details into the Amazon template

11. Save the file

12. Upload it back in Amazon underInventory → Add Products via Upload

IMPORTANT NOTES

*  Do NOT upload the Baapstore Excel file directly
*  Always use Amazon’s template
*  Ensure category node is matching
*  Copy only data, not full sheet

SECTION 4: How to Mark 'Out Of Stock' Updates Amazon - Manual and Bulk Method

A. MANUAL METHOD

Open the Stock Updates Sheet.
Below is the screenshot of our stock sheet:

 Look out for the columns 'SKU ID' and 'Status'. For example, let's copy (ctrl+c) the SKU BSB265SA1002

How to mark Out of stock updates in your Amazon

Step 1: Login to your Amazon Seller Central account.

Step 2: Click on Inventory > Manage Inventory

Step 3: Enter the SKU number in the search field and click on 'Search' as in given below image:

Step 4: Enter the quantity as '0' in the quantity field and click on 'Save' as in the above image.

BULK METHOD - 1

Step 1: Open the Google Drive folder "Amazon Bulk Stock Update Format."

Step 2: Open files 'Amazon_Bulk_Stock_Update_Template' that you have downloaded.

Step 3: Now copy SKU and Quantity fields from the 'Updated Stock' file and paste them on the respective 'Amazon_Bulk_Stock_Update_Template' file.

Step 4: Save the Excel Sheet as 'Text (Tab delimited) as in the below Screenshot.

Step 5: Log in to your Amazon SellerCentral Dashboard & navigate to Inventory > Add product via Upload

Step 6. Goto tab 'Upload your Inventory File' and under Upload File, Choose the saved file and select the File Type as 'Price & Quantity' File. Upload it.

BULK METHOD - 2

Step 1: Download the "Amazon_Bulk_Full_Products_Quantity_Update" TXT file from Google Drive.

Step 2: Upload it directly in Amazon Ref → BULK METHOD - 1(Step 4 and Step 5)

Things to Note:

1. The SKUs you already uploaded in the Amazon will get updated. If an SKU is not uploaded, you will get a warning, but you can ignore it because the matched SKUs will get updated anyway.

2. If you have changed the SKU numbers we have provided to your own, this will not work right away and you need to match and rewrite the SKUs accordingly.

3. Please follow this step on a daily basis. If you did not do it on a daily basis, it may not work. In such case, please contact us to get the updated Amazon File and you shall continue stock update from the next day.

SECTION 5: How to Check Amazon Categories Batch-Wise

Step 1: Open the Google Drive folder "Amazon category-batch-Reference."

Step 2: Open the Excel sheet named "Amazon category-batch-Reference."
